Sonakshi Sinha: I Don't Consider Myself Sexy

For someone who made one of the biggest debuts of 2010, Sonakshi Sinha is surprisingly down-to-earth and unaffected by all the sycophantic cacophony around her. With the awards season over and Dabangg making a clean sweep at most, the young star’s awards haul is growing larger by the minute — including the Filmfare Award for ‘Best Female Debut’.

Says the doe-eyed actress, “I have to admit that life’s been completely crazy ever since Dabangg released. There’s been a whirlwind of activity around me… suddenly there are more events to go to, functions to attend, lots of meetings, more work, all these awards… it’s crazy, but in a good way. I’m still the same person though. My family and friends make sure of that!” 

Back in 2008, Sonakshi was a gawky teenager, leaning towards a career in fashion rather than films. Being Shatrugan ‘Shotgun’ Sinha’s daughter didn’t necessarily mean being in front of the camera, even though her brothers Luv and Kushwere preparing for the same from a young age. In fact, it was while studying for a degree in fashion that she interned with Lakmé Fashion Week in Mumbai and walked the ramp for a few designers, earning a suitable amount of media attention. “I never intended to become an actress. I wanted to be a fashion designer. Dabangg happened by chance. Arbaaz and Salman Khan approached me for Rajjo’s part as they thought I would suit the role perfectly. I heard the script along with my family and it all fell together. It’s not like I told my father I wanted to act nor did he push me into this… the decision was mutual. There was no reason to refuse,” she says.

And by the time she was on the set, it was like she was always meant to be there. Her first day was perfectly comfortable, as she says, “It’s always different when you’re born and brought up in a film family. I’ve visited my father’s sets as a child and been part of the film industry from a young age. So I was perfectly comfortable on set and in front of the camera… it’s funny how I wasn’t nervous at all! I guess it also had to do with the fact that I knew the entire unit very well. The Khans are family friends so I knew I was in good hands, and director Abhinav Kashyap and I got along very well. All of them explained to me exactly what I needed to do and the entire shooting process went off super smoothly.”

Much like her predecessor Sonam Kapoor, Sonakshi was in the news for her massive weight loss ahead of the shoot. Despite all the stories about how she lost 30 kilos for Dabangg, the young femme fatale sports a healthy glow, showing off a fit and toned form.

“I did lose a lot of weight for the movie, but I was very clear about what I wanted to project. I’ve always believed that women should look real and not like stick figures, so my aim was to look fit and healthy and not like a size zero model. I didn’t starve myself. I respect my body, love the shape I’m in and most importantly, I’m healthy. Moreover, people have accepted me for the way I look, so why bother getting skinny?” she grins gamely.

As for her reaction to being one of the biggest female debuts to have happened to Bollywood in a long time, she says with a level-headedness far beyond her years, “I just make sure it doesn’t go to my head… and the people around me make sure of that too. I’m obviously very thankful for the praise and adulation I’ve received, and very happy that I’ve been accepted, but I take it all in my stride.” As for being the hottest young debutante on the block, she admits shyly, “I never considered myself hot or sexy… I still don’t! But I guess that’s how people see me now and it’s very, very gratifying. I’ve worked hard on looking the way I do now and I was always confident about the fact that I had appealing looks, but not to this extent! It’s a bit strange at times, but it’s also very flattering. So it makes me happy.”

The year 2011 is going to be big for the damsel; she has signed four big films — all with A-list stars — clearly speaking volumes for her appeal not just among the masses but industry heavyweights as well. She has already started shooting for Joker opposite Akshay Kumar (being directed by Shirish Kunder and scheduled for a bumper Diwali release), following which will be Race 2 with Saif Ali Khan, John Abraham and Deepika Padukone, Kick and Dabangg 2 opposite her favourite costar Salman Khan and two more projects that she prefers not to talk about. What’s more, the fresh-faced beauty has also signed on several big endorsement deals. Says the actress, “This is a very image-conscious industry, and somehow I’ve been slotted as the girlnext-door who is modern and represents the Indian youth. It’s an image I like, so keeping that in mind I’ve made my choices, be it films or brand endorsements.”

Now, talk is that Best Actor National Award for year 2011 has already found its winner in Telugu born Tamil hero Vishal. He came up with gripping performance in recent Vaadu Veedu. After the release of Badrinath iam sure that it gonna be super hit , but more than that i dont know who compared allu arjun with bradpitt..but it gonna be true he is sure to be the bradpitt of tollywood, with the amazing Abs he looks terrific in trailers and if the movie shows heroism with right emotional brave scences it gonna blow everyone away....!!

Badrinath- Super hit but cant break magadheera records

Badrinath - will be super hit film but cant break magadheera records, with graduer and visual effects and with VV vinayak direction it gonna be super hit . Theres little lapse in sentiment and story line when compared to SS rajamouli in movies taken by VVV, there should be something innovative in terms of movie making as we find in every movie taken by SSRajamouli, VVV is surely gud director but lacks innovative, smart and clever approach in movie narration and in making smart scenes that lets audience thinking sometimes which is major asset to rajamouli, lets see if there is something new with smart and logical narration with some sentiment and violence . Anyways it gonna be superhit but cant break magadheera records.

Saw Veera movie , movie as a whole is too big narration, if we see first half and second half as seperate movies it can be super hit ....movie was very big thats where its faultering ,I watch Mass maharaj movies for its comedy and enthusiatic way of taking..! Producers dont need to fear if they are taking films with Ravi teja.

Nenu naa rakshasi - Trailer - Sixth sense prediction

Saw the trailer of Nenu na Rakshasi, its gud...Puri Jaganath tried to take a different concept film, may be if its new story connecting to audience it will be super hit or else it just gonna be average film, Rana is plus point in this film for his manly and stylish looks and already with a huge popularity by acting in Dum maro dum, Ileana is no doubt asset to the film as she is gud at acting and also with her acquired plump look. Puri jagannath takes film with his style which is gud as i watch all his movies but he forgets to connect it to audience sometimes just like RGV, if he thought of connecting it to audience with some sentiments here and there it will be superhit.

After tensed World cup and Corruption movement people like to see movies which are on lighter mode with comedy , thats why i predicted shakto to be disaster before with mehr ramesh directon so it was true and my prediction came out true...audience are waiting for one true love story with comedy like Tholiprema and Nuvuvasthanate nenuvadhantana....after some violent movies in recent times...somebody direct some movies like that it will be super duper hit...after that u can take violet movies according to peoples mood. Even this i need to tell hmmmmmmm !! All the best directors.

My prediction on tollywood highest budgeted movie "Shakthi" became true

I couldnt understand it just took 10 min for me to analyse who is who in the film and whats the audience looking for this summer and predicted that the tollywood highest budgeted film will be flop and my prediction became true. Why cant the hero , producer and others predict it before investing such a huge budget on dud story lines. Better luck next time jr NTR.

2011 Tollywood Summer release predictions

Teen maar- Super duper hit - pavan kalyan, trisha action tops it all and the story line as we all know its remake of "Love aaj kal " its very gud and catches up well with A center audiences...so this movie gonna be smash hit. Pavan kalyan suits very well for lover boy stories with sentiment and he will be on groove once again after this film releases. pavan kalyan very gud at donning this kind of roles makes this movie superhit of the summer releases. Kruthi and australian actress adds some spice to the movie.

Mr .Perfect - Hit - Directed by dasharath and prabhas and kajal pairing up one more time makes it a hit. Dasrath know for his sentiment flicks gets all the family audiences to theatres and will be family com students oriented film, neverthless this movie gonna be hit in this summer releases. Prabhas and kajal action and dashrath direction makes it a hit. if its too sentimental like chakram it gonna be above average , if it little bit sentimental with lotsa comedy , this gonna be super hit for sure.

Shakthi - Above average to hit - Not sure of directoral capabilities of mehr ramesh but having confidence on jr ntr and ashwini dutt , it will be above average to hit ,seems like mehr ramesh tried to emulate ss rajamouli , but this movie seems like with out proper script and story after seeing trailers and more like rajamouli action flicks, this time this movie not gonna play that much this summer, as audiences are more inclined to see sentiment and comedy oriented films for a break before catching up with action flciks again,there shuld be some sentiment and very gud story to become a super hit or else this movie gonna be dud at the box office better luck next time for block buster hit jr ntr.

Sankranthi movie predictions for 2011 came out exactly true, its my prediction that AOD not gonna erase records of magadheera as the content is more important than special effects as you know sentiment is more important than special effects in tollywood. And regarding PVC..from the start of the film i thought its gonna be huge flop as its directed by dasari and routine dialogues and no good songs and Mirapakaya as its done by ravi teja its minimun gaurentee film and if its taken by asst director of RGV then with songs becoming hit its gonna be hit with mark style of ravi teja. Its so simple to predict the future of tollywood.As i told before itself ROBO gonna erase all box office records in india and it became true. Its so simple to predict movies in tollywood .
